Level Descriptions
Tots - Skaters will learn the proper way to fall down and get up, standing, marching in place, and marching while moving. Skaters will also learn how to glide forward on two feet, dips, beginning swizzles, and a two-foot jump (in place).
Pre-Alpha - Skaters will learn how to fall and get up, a forward two-foot glide, forward one-foot glide (on the right and left foot), forward and backward swizzles, beginning snowplow stop.
Alpha - Skaters will learn forward stroking, a one-foot snowplow stop, and forward crossovers.
Beta - Skaters will learn backward crossovers, backward stroking, Tstops with both the right and left feet.
Gamma - Skaters will learn outside 3-turns (L&R), inside mohawks (L&R), and Hockey Stops.
Delta - Skaters will learn forward inside 3-turns, shoot the duck or lunge, bunny Americas Ice Garden hop, and forward outside and inside
Freestyle - Skaters will learn fundamentals of free skating, including backwards edges, 1/2 and single jumps, spirals and spins. Skaters will also learn footwork and artistic maneuvers in preparation for competitive skating.
Stroking - Skaters will learn technique, edge control, stamina, power training, and artistry while skating to music.
Off Ice - Skaters will learn how to stretch, jumps and technique to decrease the risk of injury and improve performance on ice
Adult - Designed for skaters 17 and older. Skaters will learn all beginning elements of skating, including various stops.
